Foot Based Emergency
Foot Based Rescuer's rescue Animals close to there area and make sure they rescue animal's from the streets especially the Pigeon's.
What skills you would need to become a foot based emergency:

Work in groups
Work in a team
Be patient at times
Being able to handle animals 
Being able to use a Radio
Identify if the animal is sick or injured


For People that Drive:



For obvious reasons, we can not accept you as a volunteer if you don’t satisfy the following criteria in full:

  • You have a current and valid driving license
  • Your vehicle is fully insured
  • You have a current and valid MOT and Tax for your vehicle
  • You are physically fit to drive
Availability:
We are extremely thankful for the help of anyone that volunteers for us, but we would in no way want it to get in the way of your day to day life. Please only accept a rescue if you are completely happy and have the time to do it, and don’t ever be afraid to say no.
Every second counts when a call comes in, so to save us time and stop us bothering you, please could you let us know what days/times you can and can’t do when you start volunteering as an ambulance driver


Equipment:
We are currently raising funds for equipment that our volunteers will be able to use while out on rescues if you have your own equipment please do not hesitate to bring it along it will be great and saving money.

Training:

The session will focus on:
  • Dealing with the public
  • Carrying out a rescue
  • Using equipment
  • Handling Casualties
  • Wildlife First Aid
  • Transportation
How to carry the birds and so on.

How it will work:

1. Receive the call and the nearest unit will go.
2. They will handle the birds carefully and rescue it.
3. If they are close to our big centre in Sutton they will take it there (Pigeon Recovery).
4. The pigeon will receive all the medication and first aid it needs.
